STEMULATING SATURDAYS
STEMulating Saturdays is a monthly program designed to increase student participation in STEM activities through hands-on challenge based learning experiences. Students are split based on their current grade. Using the PEP (Present, Engage, Prepare) model, the focus is to position our students to perform at least one grade level above current educational standards. Neighborhood tech lab
Neighborhood Tech Lab is a hands-on STEM program where young people become problem-solvers for their communities. Students explore real Columbus challenges like clean water, neighborhood lighting, renewable energy, urban heat, sustainability, and infrastructure, then work in teams to design, build, test, and improve their own solutions.
Each month features a new community mission, STEM career connections, and opportunities for students to present their ideas at the See Brilliance E-sports & Maker Lab. Participants build confidence, creativity, teamwork, engineering skills, and a deeper understanding of how STEM can be used to shape the future of their neighborhoods. Powered by Battelle.
