Our Voice,
Our City Participatory Budget Project

Our Voice, Our Choice Budget is the City of Columbus' first Participatory Budgeting program. It gives residents a direct voice in deciding how to spend $9 million of the City's capital budget on projects that improve their communities.

Over the next few months, community members can:

  • Submit project ideas

  • Help develop ideas into proposals

  • Vote on the final projects

Anyone 14 or older who lives in Columbus can submit project ideas, and anyone 16 or older can vote on the final projects.

The $9 million in capital funding will be divided equally among Columbus' nine Council Districts. Download reading material here.

Ways to Be Involved In The Process

Community Presentations

We partner with existing community programs and events to gather ideas where residents already gather, hearing directly from neighbors at local meetings and partner activities.

Drop Box Locations

We're placing simple idea drop boxes at trusted local spots like libraries, churches, and community centers so anyone can submit an idea on paper, no internet or account needed.

Submit Your Idea

A quick Google Form and QR code posted at every drop box location let residents submit ideas online in under 2 minutes, with a language switch for non-English speakers.
